FBS's generous donation of US$5,000 has made a meaningful impact, benefiting children in Mae Sot who fled the ongoing conflict in Myanmar. This contribution has funded and promoted literacy and well-being through a variety of Social and Emotional Learning Activities for these children.More than 8,500 children have benefited from various activities, including reading clubs, reading buddies, and story time sessions. Additionally, caregivers have gained knowledge through awareness-raising sessions on play-based activities that promote safety, learning, and well-being. These sessions covered crucial topics such as mine risk education, personal safety, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), hygiene and sanitation, the use of home-based learning Kits (HBL), and parenting skills."Children fleeing conflict are a vulnerable group in need of support, both physically and mentally," said Guillaume Rachou, Executive Director of Save the Children Thailand. "They lack access to basic rights and are unable to pursue their education due to their circumstances. Having a partner like FBS supporting these activities for children helps alleviate their stress while allowing them to maintain their smiles and well-being."Save the Children Thailand has been supporting displaced children from Myanmar since March 2021. We have supported dignity kits for women with babies and provided 2,571 children with Psychosocial Support (PSS) and Psychological First Aid (PFA). Additionally, 358 children have received Education in Emergencies services through reading corners and Mobile Book Banks in the Phop Phra and Umphang areas. To address educational disruptions, more than 5,100 Home-based Learning kits have been distributed to this displaced children residing in Thailand.Through this collaborative effort, we are making significant progress in improving the lives of these children and families.
