Bangkok, 4 June 2024 - Nineteen prestigious properties under Marriott International in Bangkok have joined hands to support migrant youth in Mae Sot in acquiring valuable vocational and life skills through Save the Children Thailand’s Achieve for Youth Employability Project. The collective efforts of these properties have culminated in their annual charity flea market, resulting in a donation of 211,404 baht to this initiative.
The handover ceremony took place at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok. General Managers from participating hotels were present at the ceremony, underscoring their commitment to empowering underprivileged youth and bridging the gap to decent employment. This donation forms part of the generous 2.65 million baht contribution Marriott Thailand Business Council has pledged to support the Achieve for Youth Employability Project for the duration of one year.
The ceremony was also attended by Guillaume Rachou, Executive Director of Save the Children Thailand, and Phinyada Atchatavavivan, Business Development Manager of the organisation, who commended the collaborative efforts of Marriott Hotels in Bangkok.
The Achieve for Youth Employability project focuses on equipping underprivileged youth with hospitality training to enhance their job prospects. With the steadfast support of Marriott Hotels in Thailand, the project has gained significant traction since its inception in the Deep South of Thailand in 2022. As it expands to Mae Sot in 2024, the project is poised to make an even greater impact on the lives of young individuals, empowering them to secure quality employment opportunities.
