Success stories

Kerati, a visually impaired university student, has long faced barriers in both education and employment.
Kerati joined the Training of Trainers programme on Employability Skills for Youth with Visual Impairment, organised by Save the Children Thailand and Dots Coffee, with the support of the CapitaLand Hope Foundation and The Ascott Limited.
Since completing the programme, Kerati has gained confidence and is now empowering others by passing on his knowledge.
“We aren’t just people looking for care or sympathy. We can be capable people too.”
“Before joining this programme, my life was very difficult. As a migrant youth, I had to work multiple jobs to support myself, and I was never sure what my future would look like.”
Chicken is a migrant youth who joined an internship programme by Save the Children Thailand and Marriott International. She first received employability and vocational skills training in Mae Sot before being selected for an internship opportunity at The Athenee Hotel in Bangkok, where she trained in barista and bartending skills.
From a time when the future path was unclear, today Chicken has confidently stepped into the working world and is now successfully employed at The Athenee Hotel in Bangkok.
Four-year-old Sharif lives with his family in a remote community in Thailand’s Southernmost provinces. The LEARN project’s ‘Play House’ has become a vital space, filling the void of a missing classroom where children thrive through play-based learning and storytelling.
With support from REO’s Deli, children like Sharif not only receive nutritious meals during activities but can also bring food home.
Sharif often saves his milk and fruit to share with his siblings at home. “Half for me, and the other half for my siblings,” he says, reflecting the spirit of care and sharing.
Testimonials
We are truly impressed by the dedication of the youth who joined this programme, and it is clear that the opportunity has been meaningful. We are proud to be part of this project. During their internships at Marriott Hotels, they gain valuable skills in food preparation, cleanliness, and communication, all of which are essential for their future careers. This experience is especially beneficial for those who aspire to become chefs, providing them with strong preparation for the future.
