Every Child Deserves a Future
Since 2018, Save the Children Thailand has been implementing a vocational training program for youth in the Deep South, supported by USAID. The project has received widespread positive feedback from youth, vocational institutes, and employers in the area. It has opened doors for young individuals to acquire essential skills such as cooking, hospitality, tiling, sewing, and appliance repair. Many participants have been able to earn supplemental income, while others have pursued these skills as full-time professions, transforming their lives and breaking free from the cycle of poverty.
In 2024, the project expanded to Mae Sot District, Tak Province, providing cross-border migrant youth along the Thailand-Myanmar border with access to critical vocational and life skills. Collaborating with local institutes and receiving support from Marriott International, the programme facilitates internships for participating youth at Marriott hotels in Bangkok.
